NEET 2017 was conducted on May 7, 2017 for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses. This have been reports that the NEET exam will be re conducted due to the on going controversies. For the exam a total of 11 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in 104 cities, more than 2200 institutions were made the centres based on the credibility, reliability and infrastructure etc in these centres. A total of 11,38,890 students appeared for the exam including 1,522 NRIs and 613 foreigners. Recently a group of nine students from Madurai has filed a joint writ petition in the Madras High Court Bench seeking a direction to the Centre to cancel National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on May on the basis that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by framed different question papers for students who wrote the test in 10 different language. They were of the opinion that the board should have had the same questions. The students and parents are firmly of the opinion that since NEET exam was conducted on the basis of one India one exam , it should be on the basis of one India, one question paper is a must in NEET. Otherwise, assessment of intelligence and aptitude will differ.The Re-exam of NEET was conducted in Warangal for 230 students as they were given question paper in Hindi rather than the Telugu which they had chosen. The decision to re conduct NEET exam in Warangal was taken after parents and student association complained to CBSE about this blunder. The Bengal government also claimed that the Bengali paper was tougher than the English paper and also lodge a protest over the difficult level of questions in Bengali in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses in government and private medical colleges in the country. A major reason for NEET exam 2017 to be re conducted could be that the NEET exam 2017 paper was leaked in Bihar according to reports. ihar police arrested five people from here on Saturday in bid to leak the question paper of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Out of the five arrested, two were doctors. They have been identified as Shubham and Bittu.Police also seized mobile phones, various equipment and pick van from the arrested persons. Those arrested are the gang’s kingpin and Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) student Shiv Kumar, Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) student Shivam Mandal, law student Avinash Roshan, a private school coordinator Avinash Chandra Dubey and a pick van driver Sanjay Yadav. As for the confirmation of the same, CBSE Official could not be reached. Also sources close to the board suggested that a re-examination or another NEET was highly unlikely. The sources also commented that the board is considering the concerns raised and planning to address them after the Answer Keys are released. Without any official notification, in the meantime, students and parents anxiously wait for the results of NEET 2017 Exam.
