RRB Recruitment 2018: At least 20,000 more jobs have been announced by the Indian Railways on March 29, Thursday. With the latest addition, the total number of Railways jobs rises to 1,10,000. The latest vacancies which have been declared by the Railways are 26,502 vacant posts for loco pilot and technicians and 9,000 for sub-inspectors and constables in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). 50 per cent of these jobs will be reserved for women. Although an infographic has been released by the Railways, proper advertisements would be taken out in the month of May this year.
Besides these, an additional of 10,000 jobs would be created in the L-1 and L-2 categories, said the Indian Railways.
Additional jobs have been added by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in a bid to improve the ground functioning in various spheres such as travel safety, avoiding derailment and electrification with the help of modern technology.
Nearly two crore candidates have applied against 90,000 vacancies which had been previously advertised and the number is going to rise further as there are still two days for the deadline to end. A railway official said that candidates would be given a proper amount of time to check their answers after the completion of the exam and once the results are declared in order to maintain transparency.
