Staff Selection Commission has released a notification on its official website ssc.nic.in regarding the vacancies of BRO that have been included in the Junior Engineer (civil, mechanical, electrical, quantity surveying and contract) examination 2015. The commission has further notified that the candidates who will be opting for the JE in BRO will have to appear for the medical exam (PET). In the official notification, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has also stated the physical standards criteria region wise. It has been mentioned in the official notification that only male candidates are eligible for the post of Junior Engineer in BRO. Female candidates does not stand eligible for the JE post in BRO.

The Director General Board Roads will conduct the medical examination. The Director General Board Roads will inform the candidates pertaining to their medical fitness. The Staff Selection Commission has declared the prelim results of JE exam 2015 on May 2016. The Physical Efficiency test will be conducted at GREF Centre, by the Board of Officers detailed by the headquarters. The medical test will be carried out by the medical board. Candidates need to follow the guidelines as set by the medical board. If any candidate is absent on the date of reporting for the medical examination or does not report for medical review within the scheduled time, his candidature will be liable for cancellation. Candidates should go through the medical standards of recruitment for GREF. A candidate must be sufficiently intelligent, free from nervous instability and should have sound health. A candidate will be rejected if he has an abnormal gait, general impaired constitution with frail health, abnormal posture, deafness, defective intelligence, pronounced stammering, sexually transmitted diseases, any degree of squint, cases of colour blindness, defective vision, chronic lung infection, any amputation or any other disease as mentioned in the notification. The grounds of temporary rejection include; Pterygium, Conjunctivitis, Defective vision, Chronic tonsillitis, trachoma grade III, varicose veins, few decayed teeth, planter warts, anaemia, hydrocele, hernia, vericocele, deviated nasal septum etc. SSC conducts many recruitment exams every year. Candidates need to qualify all the phases of the exam including medical test. After qualifying all the stages of the recruitment process, the candidates gets finally selected.
