New Delhi, Mar 28: At least four men were arrested on March 27 night in connection with the SSC Data Entry Operator paper leak. The four accused- Ajay Kumar, Gaurav, Sonu Singh and Param- were arrested in a joint operation of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) and the Delhi Police from north Delhi’s Timarpur area. The four of the accused were holed up inside a house in Timarpur’s Gandhinagar.
The accused confessed to their crime saying they used to charge at least Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh from aspiring candidates who wished to clear the SSC examination. Divulging the information on how they used to help students cheat during the exam, the accused said that software installed in computers were used to transmit the correct answers to the students. Not only this, the four confessed that many others were involved in the SSC paper leak and they operated across the whole of North India.
At least 10 mobile phones, three cars, mobile dongles, one laptop, Rs. 51 lakh cash and various important documents have been recovered. An FIR under the IT Act has been registered at the Timarpur police station in Delhi. Investigation for the same is currently underway.
