Mirzapur, Aug 10: A government primary school in Eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur was turned into a dance bar on the night of Raksha Bandhan by some locals. The relatives of the local village head decided to turn the primary school into a bar to celebrate a birthday party. 24 village heads from the adjoining villages had gathered inside the school along with bar dancers to celebrate the village head’s birthday. According to the report, two dozen heads had gathered inside the school to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and later on, they decided to call bar girls.

According to a Times Now report, the school principal said that the village sarpanch had taken the keys of the school from him on Monday. The teachers found the premises of the school littered on Tuesday when the school reopened for the day. Locals have said that it was the result of the party the relatives of Ramkesh Yadav’s relatives had thrown for him.

Assistant teacher Ashok Kumar informed a local Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Praveen Kumar Tiwari about the incident, who then instructed a block education officer to carry out an investigation. The BSA said that action will be taken once the school principal files a written complaint against the local village head.

“Assistant teacher Ashok Kumar informed me that village head Ramkesh Yadav organised a dance party on school premises. It is a very serious and highly objectionable move. The BEO has been asked to prepare a detailed report in the matter,” Tiwari told Hindustan Times.

Ramkesh Yadav, however, denied attending the party.
