Lucknow, April 6: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) is likely to announce High School (class 10) and Intermediate (class 12) results on June 9, said media reports. The results would be available on the official website www.upmps.edu.in.
The UPMSP Board has successfully conducted the Secondary Examination (High School) and Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) for the academic year 2017-18 in the month of February-March. In an examination that is conducted by perhaps the biggest board of education, 66 lakh students appeared this year.
It was also for the first time in the history of the board that as many as 10 lakh candidates dropped out of the exams, reportedly because of the strict measures against cheating mafia. “This time 66.37 lakh students appeared for the exam. This is the largest board of its kind in the world,” UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma had said.
Meanwhile, reacting to the large number of dropouts, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had emphasised on the need for simple exam papers. “We are observing and we won’t leave it at this. It is necessary to think on how exams can be simplified,” he said. Around 5.5lakh students had opted out of the board exams after registering for them. The state government’s stringent measures against cheating was seen as a major deterrent.
