New Delhi, Nov 29: Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the UPSC SO/Steno Exam 2016 on December 17. The admit card for the exam is going to be released soon. The notification for UPSC SO/Steno Exam 2016 was released on September 10. Thousands of candidates applied in response to the notification. The last date for submitting the application was October 7. Candidates can download the call letters in the first week of December. The admit card will contain the name of the candidates, the details of the venue, candidates photograph and space for signature, timing of the exam. Candidates should reach the exam venue on time. If a candidate reaches late, he/she will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates should also carry a valid identity proof along with the call letter. Candidates should make sure that the call letter is printed properly, in case of any error or misprint; candidates should contact the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and get the error/ misprint rectified.

Candidates can download the call letter of UPSC SO/ Steno Exam 2016 by visiting the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. After visiting the official website, candidates will have to click on the activated admit card link which will be displayed by the name ‘UPSC SO/Steno Exam 2016 Admit Card’. The link is not activated yet. It will be activated in the month of December. The admit card will contain essential details which should be carefully read. Candidates should go through important instructions imprinted in the admit card. The admit card should be downloaded from the official website and the hard copy of the same should be carried at the examination center. • Category II: Sections Officers’ Grade (Integrated Grade II & III) of the General Cadre of the Indian Foreign Service, Branch ‘B’
• Category III: Section Officers’ Grade of the Railway Board Secretariat Service
• Category IV: Private Secretary Grade of the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service
• Category V: Grade I of the Stenographers’ Cadre of the Indian Foreign Service, Branch ‘B’
• Category VI: Grade ‘A & ‘B’ merged of the Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers’ Service {Participating only for the exam year 2013}

• Category VIII: Section Officers’ Grade of the Intelligence Bureau

Candidates should read the instructions carefully regarding the exam on the official website before the exam day. Barred items should not be carried at the exam center and candidates should not indulge in any unfair means during the exam.
