Kolkata, Oct 10: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) on Monday released a notification for the Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET) 2017. The last date to apply for 30,000 vacancies in the primary schools in West Bengal is October 29 on the official websites wbbpe.org and wbsed.gov.in. The websites will open for submission of such online applications from October 10, 2017, and close on October 29, 2017.
This year, the West Bengal board has given five per cent relaxation in the Higher Secondary examination cut-off marks to the reserved category candidates. Relaxation would also be given to the family members of a state government employee, “who died in harness”, Indian Express reported.
Eligibility: The general category candidates would have to score at least 50 per cent in the Higher Secondary examination. The reserved category candidates would have to score 45 per cent in the exams.
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and a two-year diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and four years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
The general category candidates will have to score 60 per cent marks in the examination to get a seat in WBTET 2017. Reserved category candidates will have to score 55 per cent to be eligible for teaching in primary schools.
