New Delhi, Apr 26:  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president and spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Saturday that the Congress will understand the degree of its defeat when the results are out on May 16.

He was responding to Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s remark that the Congress is in a position to consider forming a government at the Centre with the help of the Third Front.

“It is an effect of depression from its expected and ensuing defeat for which they are neither focusing on decorum or dignity. They would only understand that the tide is not in their favour when they get defeated,” Naqvi said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Friday, said that the chances of Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister were slim, and the Congress could form the next government in alliance with “the Third Front”.

“I don’t see any great possibility of Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister. Even if he gets more seats than us, he would not get support of the regional parties,” Chavan said at a press conference.
