Celebration of Hindi Diwas holds a lot of significance in the country and stands as a patriotic reminder to Indian populations of their common roots and unity.
The celebration of Hindi Diwas first began in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India on September 14. The hard work that went into making Hindi the national language and their protests and demonstrations for the Indian language to be recognised is celebrated on this day every year. September 14, 1949, marked the 50th birthday of Beohar Rajendra Simha, who made vital contributions to highlight the importance of Hindi and push it to be the official language of the country.
The Indian Constitution and laws were initially written in English until people of the country came together to add Hindi as an official language. This decision came into effect on January 26, 1950, and Under the Article 343 of the Indian Constitution, Hindi written in Devanagari script was adopted as the official language. While there are 22 scheduled languages in India, only two of them are official languages – Hindi and English. As we celebrate Hindi Diwas 2017, here are Best Wishes, Messages, and WhatsApp GIF Images to wish everyone.
