Karwa Chauth fast during menstruation?
There is absolutely no problem when it comes to observe fast even if you are menstruating. The one thing that you need to take care is if you have a clotting or bleeding disorder then you should think twice. Because your body gets dehydrated during the fasting period which can lead to an increase in the clotting tendency. Risk of clotting becomes more because during the menstrual cycle the clotting mechanism of your body works well. So when there is loss of water. If you have clotting tendency and you also get dehydrated while observing a fast then the clotting becomes even more faster which can lead to a lot of problems. Tips for Karwa Chauth fasting during pregnancy
When you are carrying a baby, you might think twice before fasting. But if you are properly hydrated and your nutrition is also correct, a few hours of fasting will not be harmful. But in today’s time, the diet of any person is not proper. So without optimum nutrition level it might not be a good idea to fast when you are pregnant. Also, in modern times there are many diabetes and blood pressure problems rising in women who are pregnant. So, pregnant women with any medical problem should avoid fasting. Because fasting might worsen the medical condition and put the pregnancy at risk.
Always consult your gynecologist before you plan to observe fast. Get yourself medically evaluated and make sure that it is safe for you to fast. Since anything that affects your body will also affect the child, you have to ensure that the whole process of fasting should not take a toll on your body.
Strict fasting is a complete no-no, you can always allow yourself a semi-fast by consuming fruits and liquid. The best way to observe a Karwa Chauth fast is by avoiding a complete no-food and no-water fast and to allow yourself a semi fast. This means you keep your hydration level up by consuming different kinds of liquids like water, coconut water, chaas etcetera. You can also have some fresh seasonal fruits if you start feeling a little uncomfortable. But if you start feeling dizzy, you should abandon the fast and have something because a drop in sugar level will also affect your baby.
Applying henna on your hands and feet when you are pregnant should not be a problem if you know the source of the product and have used it before, you can definitely use it. But since these days henna has a lot of synthetic dyes, it would be safe if you steer clear of these products. Opt for natural henna paste, because if you end up with some allergic reaction, you are not only putting yourself at risk but also the pregnancy. So it would be ideal to steer clear of products with chemicals in it. During the time when you are carrying a baby, your body protects you from a lot of allergies because it produces chemicals that has steroid like action during pregnancy. Some other generic things that you have to keep in mind if you are pregnant or trying for a baby; keep your body hydrated and also follow a proper healthy diet. Your diet should include protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Also, instead of two heavy meals, try to break it down to small portions. Eat something after every two to three hours throughout the day,this will also ensure that you do not get acidity or any other problem.
