Romelu Lukaku

There is an air of expectancy surrounding the Belgium team at the World Cup and they will be looking to put group h underdogs Algeria to the sword. The emergence of a good crop of quality player has seen Belgium qualify for the World Cup after a long hiatus. Algeria will be looking to improve after the debacle of the African nations cup and their only  noteworthy performance at the finals came in the 2010 World Cup when they held an out of sorts English team to a draw.

BELGIUM: The European nation have been boosted by the fact that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been declared fit to take on the Algerians. Their strength lie in the attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Alex Witsel set to trouble their opponents. Manchester United’s Marouane Felliani who has been under some heavy criticism throughout his first season with red devils should find a place in Marc Wilmots team. Their custodian Thibaut Courtois is one of the most talked about talents coming into the cup and should look forward to a largely untroubled evening. Skipper Vincent Kompany who missed a few training session in the run up to the match but is now fit to play against the African side.

ALGERIA: Even though Group H does not look that strong for Algeria to qualify for the knockout stage they will have to play out of their skins. Their opening encounter against Belgium is a tough one for the African side who have done well to qualify for their second world cup in a row. The country famously associated with probably one of the greatest footballer of all time Zinedine Zidane have some experienced players coming from the European leagues .  The likes of Faouzi Ghoulam, Saphir Taïder and Nabil Bentaleb are expected to start. Goalkeeper Hilal Soudani will have to keep his ill tempered nature under control and they look set to park the bus in front of their goal to prevent Belgium from scoring.

Belgium (4-2-3-1): Courtois, Alderweireld, Kompany, Buyten, Vertonghen; Witsel, Fellaini, Mertens, Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku.

Algeria (4-3-2-1): Zemmampouche, Mandi, Cadamuro, Bougherra, Ghoulam, Lacen, Bentaleb, Taider;,Soudani, Feghouli, Slimani.

PREDICTION: Belgium look set to cruise through this match and if they play to their potential a win in the World Cup opener is guaranteed.
