Clint Dempsey’s early goal was cancelled by Andre Ayew’s superb goal but then USA kept on going and got their winner through John Brooks’ header! Ghana have blown their chances as they play Germany next!

85 Min: GOAL!!! It’s the substitute John Brooks! The defender capitalizes on terrible marking for the corner set-piece to give USA the lead again!!! He heads in a Graham Zusi corner! What a finish to this game! In a matter of minutes, the Yanks have lost 2 pts and then got it back again!

82 Min: GOAL!!! Andre Ayew gets the equalizer for Ghana! The winger makes a great run and plays a one-two with Gyan before firing a superb effort beyond Howard at near post.
74 Min: Ghana have been a completely package in the second half. Only 15 minutes to go! Can they find the equalizer? Or will Clint Dempsey’s goal separate the two sides?
64 Min: Gyan takes another chance and it’s blocked! Boateng’s inclusion into the side has got them shooting and going for the equalizer! Can USA hang on?
58 Min: Ghana sees a change. Kevin-Prince Boateng comes on for Jordan Ayew. Now this is interesting! He will certainly make a huge difference for his side, as we’ve seen in the Bundesliga.
57 Min: SAVE! A great ball in finds Gyan unmarked and the striker takes an effort from the edge of the box Tim Howard saves it! The USA keeper keeping his side in the game!
Second-half: This is where things get interesting. Can United States defend their slender lead or will Ghana change their fortunes?
Both sides walk into the dressing room to listen to their resective manager’s plan of action for the next half. Ghana will need to come up with a new plan as they have hardly troubled USA keeper Tim Howard.
45+2 Min: Sulley Muntari is very lucky! Considering the referee blunders this World Cup, he is really lukcy to have had escaped a yellow card or even red! Muntari charged towards Jermaine Jones and brought down the Schalke midfielder with a horrible challenge. After which the Ghanian reacted badly for a slight hit on the head and laid his hands on Jones.
33 Min: Demspey is hit on the nose while duelling in the air for a header with John Boye. The goalscorer is down with a bloody nose. Very reminiscent of the Brain McBride blooded face in USA’s opener against Italy in Germany 2006.
32 Min: Asamoah Gyan finally gets a chance to turn and come inside and rifles in one shot from a distance but Howard gets down to push it to safety.

23 Min: Warm applause for Sunderland man Jozy Altidore who is substituted for Aron Johannsson after picking up a hamstring injury. Huge blow for the Yanks! They’ve lost a player with pace.
18 Min: Oh boy! USA are looking like the more confident side here! Who in God’s name called them the minnows of Group G? They’re playing like they’re going for the cup! A great counter-attack sees a cross find Jozy Altidore but he loses his footing and only manages to shoot the ball at the diving Ghanian defenders.

12 Min: Ghana who have been shocked by the early goal are now settling down in the midfield. It’s been such a frantic pace so far, they’ve not had time to take a touch. Usually they boast style and confidence but any team would be stunned by an early and surprising goal!

1 Min: GOAL!!! What a start! Clint Dempsey gets an early goal! It’s been only 32 seconds and we have our first goal! Who needs Landon Donovan when you’ve got Dempsey? WHAT A LIVELY START!
Kick-off: The referee gets an exciting game underway! Can United States pull a shocker against Ghana who are favoured more today?
