Sami Khedira joins European and World Cup double club

Besides coming out as the FIFA World Cup 2014 winner, Sami Khedira has gone on to make another feat in his young football career. Germany’s victory over Argentina in the World Cup final meant the Real Madrid player became only the 10th player to win the World Cup and the European Cup or Champions League in the same year.

The last one to win both the Champions League and the World Cup was former Real Madrid great Roberto Carlos in 2002. Only Bayern Munich and Real Madrid players have achieved this feat. Have a look at the whole list below:

Sepp Maier (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Paul Breitner (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Hans-Georg Schwarzenbeck (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Franz Beckenbauer (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Gerd Mueller (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Uli Hoeness (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Jupp Kapellmann (Bayern Munich/West Germany, 1974)

Christian Karemebeu (Real Madrid/France, 1998)
