A free Health Fair has once again been arranged this year at the Midwest Swaminarayan Temple in Itasca, IL on September 14.

ITASCA (IL) — A free Health Fair has once again been arranged this year at the Midwest Swaminarayan Temple in Itasca, IL on September 14.

Along with the Midwest Swaminarayan Temple, other institutions, including the Lohana Association of Greater Chicago, the Gujarati Samaj of Chicago and the Kadva Patidar Samaj of Chicago are also co-sponsoring the fair, the 35th Health Fair organized by Jayanti Thakkar in Chicagoland.

The fair is open to all in need of medical checkup and health-related problems, and requires no pre-registration but registration will start at the temple at 8 am and close at 11 am.

The participants, who have been asked to come with their list of medicines, will be tested for blood pressure, blood composition, blood sugar, EKG, urinalysis, eye screening, bone density tests, NET exam, chiropractic consultation, physical therapy, dental examination, hearing test and Physical examination.

Information about social Services and benefits will also be provided. Also arranged is a diabetic education program. This time, 300 free flu shot will also be given. Those with Medicare may bring their card so that more people without card can get free flu shot.

As many as 25 volunteer doctors and 75 health care professionals will provide their volunteer services for the event. Patients requiring blood testing have been requested to observe fasting for 12 hours before the test.

They have also been advised not to take food or drinks after 8 pm from the previous night.

Any medical problems detected during the Health Fair can be further treated at the monthly clinic at the temple once a month. This is again a free service provided by the temple management and includes doctors’ check-up, laboratory testing and providing medicines on a regular basis.
