Christmas is the time for joy and celebration. It is the time to invite your friends and family over for a party or a dinner, decorating home, put up a Christmas tree, drink wine and eating delicious foods. Christmas celebration is incomplete without the gingerbread, cakes, mulled wine and other delicacies. These days, you get all the Christmas food readymade and delivered to your doorstep but it is always a good idea to make the cake at home. So, as you prepare to host a Christmas dinner, here is a simple recipe to make tasty, moist Christmas fruitcake. Here is the list of ingredient for the recipe.

Ingredients:

2 cups of Maida (Flour)

1 tin NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 cup of sugar

100 grams of butter

150 grams of dried fruits (chopped, you can take a mix of almonds, walnuts, cashew nut, orange peel, cherries)

1/3 cup of warm water

150 ml Aerated Soda

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg powder

Method:

First, make sugar syrup by melting sugar in a pan until it becomes brown. Now, add warm water to the molten sugar to make syrup. Keep it aside.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Add a teaspoon of flour to the chopped dry fruits to coat it. Also, grease and dust a baking tin.

Take a big bowl and sift together plain flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg powder and cinnamon powder.

Take another bowl and add NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk and the butter. Mix well. Fold in the plain flour to the butter and condensed milkmaid mixture. Now, add sugar syrup and aerated soda alternatively into the mixture. Once it is well mixed, add the dry fruits.

Now, take the baking tin and add the batter into it. Bake for about an hour. Take a toothpick in insert it in the center and if it comes out clean, then the cake is done.
