A skin rash can be defined as an abnormal change in the appearance, texture and colour of the skin. It can cause itching and make the skin chapped, bumpy, dry or blistered. It may or may not be painful. A rash can last from few hours to around 20 days. It can be signs and symptoms of certain diseases like measles. There are different types of including pityriasis rosea, granuloma annulare and eczema. Rashes can be caused due to several different reasons and therefore the treatments also vary. The most common causes for rashes are anxiety, food allergy, infections, allergies, skin diseases, irritation and poor hygiene. Some of the not-so-common causes for rashes include pregnancy, autoimmune disorder and scarlet fever. In case your rashes do not improve in few days or after some home remedies, consult your doctor. 1. Cold compress

Applying cold compress will reduce the bumpiness, inflammation and the irritation of the rash, especially those caused by an insect bite, heat or plants. All you have to do is cover the affected area with a piece of cloth and apply ice cube over it. You can also dip a clean cloth in ice-cold water and put it on the affected area for about five to ten minutes. Make sure you are not placing the ice directly on the skin.

2. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is one of the most effective home remedies for the skin rashes. It has antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a great cure for the many skin ailments including rashes. It will ease the inflammation and decrease the redness. Apply gel from aloe vera stalk on the rashes and leave it there for about 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water. 3. Olive oil

Olive oil is another great home remedy for the treatment of rashes. Rich in anti-oxidants and vitamin E, olive oil promotes skin renewal. It heals the skin and reduces the irritation. Apply few drops of extra virgin olive oil on the rashes few times every day and it will heal.

4. Chamomile tea

5. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is also one of the best home remedies for skin rashes. It will not only fight the infection of the skin but will also ease the itching. You have to take a spoon of apple cider vinegar and dip a cotton ball in it. Let the cotton ball soak up the vinegar and then place in on the affected area. Leave it there for a few minutes and then remove it. Wash the area with cold water. You can repeat this method couple of time in daily for a few days. You can also dilute apple cider vinegar using water if it causes a slight stinging sensation.
