Bollywood actor R Madhavan is one of the few actors in India with pan-Indian appeal, thanks to the fact that he has featured in movies in seven different languages. Madhavan began his acting career with a small guest appearance on small screen in the prime time soap opera named Banegi Apni Baat back in 1996. Post that he appeared in a handful of commercials and small roles only to gain recognition with Mani Ratnam’s hit Tamil romantic movie Alaipayuthey.

Pretty soon he made his mark as a romantic hero with the highest grossing Tamil movies in his kitty. Also he developed an image as a romantic hero with his first Bollywood lead role in the movie Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein opposite Dia Mirza which was not successful at the box office. But soon after it was screened on television, it developed a cult following among the youngsters who went gaga over the romantic movie and Madhavan’s chocolate boy image.

The actor is back in news as he has been invited as one of the guest speakers along with actor Pawan Kalyan at the 14th edition of the India Conference at Harvard. He will be present at the largest student-run conferences with a focus on India in the US scheduled to take place on February 11 and 12, 2017 at the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School.
