Dhaka, June 26 :  Ministry of External Affairs ( MEA) spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said on Thursday that Bangladesh has assured India that it will never allow terrorists or other anti-social elements to operate from its territory against India. Briefing media here on the talks between visiting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and the Bangladesh leadership, Akbaruddin said the cordial relations between New Delhi and Dhaka had been re-emphasized

“Bangladesh has indicated to our leadership that they were unequivocal and uncompromising in their opposition to terrorism in any form and manifestation, and Bangladesh will never allow itsterritory to be used against India, he said. He further confirmed that Swaraj had handed over a personal letter from Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in which she has been invited to come to India, and also to chart the way ahead for bilateral relations

Swaraj has also invited Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali to India for next Joint Consultative Committee meeting (JCC).
