After a scathing comment by BJP leader, K Laxman in Telangana,who called the Sania Mirza ‘daughter-in-law’ of Pakistan Twitterati are asking if she ain’t an Indian citizen. The issue started after Sania Mirza was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Telangana by the Chief Minister of the state, Chandrashekara Rao. While announcing she would serve as its brand ambassador, the Telangana government led by K Chandrasekhar Rao sanctioned a crore on Monday for her training and coaching.
K Laxman added that by appointing the tennis star as the brand ambassador the state government broke the basic protocol as she is married to a Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. He also said that Mirza was born in Maharashtra after which her family moved to Hyderabad.
