Janata Dal United-Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress alliance result of Bharatiya Janata Party's divisive politics: Manoj Jha

New Delhi, July 27 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Sunday said that the coalition between the Janata Dal United (JD-U), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress for the upcoming Bihar bypolls is a result of the divisive politics of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Both the JDU and the RJD were formed due to their anti Congress approach but today the scenario is different. Today, there is a party in power which is trying to divide the society on religious lines,” said Jha. He further said that both the RJD and the JDU have set a new precedent by keeping their personal issues aside and forming an alliance which is in best interest of Bihar. Pointing towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, Jha alleged, “Today one person and his party are trying to destroy the social fabric of India.”

“This is not simply a coalition for electoral motives but it is a coalition of ideas,” Jha added. Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that it is a sad irony that both the RJD and the JDU, which were formed due to their anti-Congress stands, have joined hands with Congress. “Now, we can just wait and see how the political future of both the parties shapes up,” added Naqvi.

The RJD, JDU and the Congress have formed a coalition to contest against the BJP in the upcoming Bihar bypoll, in which elections will be held on 10 assembly seats. However, a final announcement regarding the coalition and the seat sharing agreement is yet to be made by the parties.
