New Delhi, May 26: Narendra Modi cabinet was sworn in on Monday in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of over 4,000 guests. President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office to Modi and the 45-member NDA cabinet. Dignitaries from politics, industry, cinema and religion, capped by leaders of SAARC nations including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, watched Modi take the oath of office and secrecy in Hindi.

Modi had invited eight world leaders, including the SAARC heads of state, and all have reached Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA government. Never before have well over 4000 people gathered in the forecourt of the majestic Presidential house as they did on Monday to watch the change of guard from Manmohan Singh to the man from Gujarat for whom the oath-taking ceremony was the culmination of a breathtaking political journey.
