New Delhi, Feb 12: Both the houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon Wednesday following loud protests over the Telangana issue.
Minutes after the house met, members opposing and favouring the formation of the proposed state created a din in the Lok Sabha. While Seemandhra members carried placards hailing a united Andhra Pradesh, Telangana members shouted slogans demanding early creation of the proposed separate state.
Amid chaos, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the house till 12 noon.
The Rajya Sabha lost its question hour once again Wednesday as members of the house protested the proposed formation of Telangana. As soon as the Rajya Sabha began its sitting for the day, members opposed to the proposed Telangana state trooped near the chairman’s podium and flashed placards.
Amid the din, Chairman M. Hamid Ansari adjourned the house till noon.
