Why is Kiran Bedi supporting Narendra Modi?
Former IPS officer says she sees BJP as the only option to provide stability to the country.
Former police officer Kiran Bedi Friday said her support is for experienced governance, and the only option she has is the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“My support is for experienced governance. My support is for inclusive India which is not dividing urban and rural. My support is for development, and unity and integrity of this country. If we get a hung parliament, where will we go?,” Bedi told Times Now TV channel.
“My support to Modi is for a strong, united, accountable, stable government,” she added.
“My support is for India first, and the only option we have today is the BJP as a national party, because the other national party, which is mainly the Congress, is the cause of all our scams. How do I vote Congress again,” she added.
Former Indian Police Service officer Bedi said she is looking for a party that can lead the country and provide stability, provided it gets the numbers.
She, however, refused to join any party in the near future.
“No, I am not joining any political party. I love my independent voice, and I think India has a place for strongly independent voices who want no membership, but want to air their voice with a courage of conviction without any exceptions,” she said.
“I think I would like to fall in that space,” she added.
Bedi had Thursday tweeted, “Any one of us who wants a scam free country cannot vote back Congress! India needs stability and experienced hands to provide for all!”
“For me it’s India First! Stable, Well Governed, Administered, Accountable and Inclusive. As a an independent voter, my vote is for NaMo,” she wrote on Twitter. IANS
