Bhubaneswar, Apr 5 (PTI) BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today described BJP president Amit Shah’s estimation of his party winning 120-plus assembly seats in 2019 elections as “very very exaggerated”.

“I think this (Shah’s estimation) is very very exaggerated,” Patnaik told reporters while reacting over Shah’s statement at a public meeting in Bolangir today.

Elections to the 147 member Odisha assembly are due early next year. Patnaik has been in power since 2000.

Shah had launched the party’s ‘Mission 120-plus’ during his visit to Odisha in September last year. He had set the target in the backdrop of BJP candidates registering impressive performance in the panchayat elections.

However, in the recently he by-election in Bijepur assembly segment, the BJP lost to the BJD. The saffron party candidates were also defeated in the polls to two Notified Area Councils, results of which were announced today.

But the landslide victory in Tripura last month has re-energised the BJP.
