New Delhi, Apr 6 (PTI) Castor seed prices recovered by Rs 17 to Rs 4,130 per quintal in futures trade today backed by covering-up of short positions by operators amid a firm trend at the physical markets and pick-up in export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed to be delivered this month advanced by Rs 17, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 4,130 per quintal, with an open interest of 32,560 lots.
In a similar way, castor seed for delivery in May rose by Rs 13, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 4,170 per quintal; the business turnover stood in 59,870 open lots.
Marketmen said, the rise in castor seed prices at futures market was due to raising of bets following a firm trend at the spot markets on export demand coupled with short-covering.
