Shillong, Apr 17 (PTI) The Centre has released funds close to Rs 30 crore for the Central Agriculture University (CAU) which is being set up in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed the Assembly today.

The Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) of the Ministry of Agriculture had in 2010 had selected a site at Kyrdemkulai in Ri-Bhoi district for the CAU and 30 per cent of the work has been completed, he said.

Classes have also started at a temporary campus in Umiam, the chief minister said.
