New Delhi, Apr 4 (PTI) Chana prices traded higher by 0.42 per cent to Rs 3,809 per quintal in futures trading today as participants raised bets, driven by pick-up in demand from dal mills at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May gained Rs 16, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 3,809 per quintal with an open interest of 60,600 lots.

On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in April contracts was trading higher by Rs 15, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 3,789 per quintal in 43,090 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in chana futures prices to widening of positions by traders due to uptick in demand from dal mills in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
