Copper edges up on global cues

New Delhi, Dec 1 (PTI) In restricted activity, copper prices rose higher by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today, tracking a firm trend overseas.
Traders said, a firm trend overseas after the OPEC oil cartel reached a deal yesterday in Vienna to reduce its output for the first time in 8 years led to the uptrend.
Globally, copper for delivery in three months gained 2.1 per cent to settle at USD 5,825 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange. The metal gained 20 per cent for the month, its biggest gain since April 2006.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap rose by Rs 3 to Rs 362 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg): Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 815-820, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 362, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 91, lead imported Rs 97, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148. PTI SUN KPS SBT MR
