Mumbai, Dec 7 (PTI) Copra office Alappuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra edible mumbai firmed up at the spices market here today following sustained demand from stockists and retailers amidst good export offtake.

Meanwhile, black pepper weakened further owing to lower demand from stockists and retailers.

Other spices held stable in the absence of any large- scale buying activity.

Copra office Alappuzha rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 14,300 from Wednesday’s close Rs 14,100 and copra office Kozhikode climbed by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 14,200 as against Rs 13,900 yesterday.

Elsewhere, copra edible mumbai also gained by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 15,600 as compared yesterday’s close Rs 15,500.

Black pepper (per kg) 390/470 (395/475), ginger unbleached (per kg) 125 (125), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 14,300 (14,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 14,200 (13,900), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,500 (17,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 15,600 (15,500).
