Hyderabad, Apr 16 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said infrastructure works at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore would be taken up in the old city of Hyderabad.
He said he would launch the works very soon and that it would be completed on a war-footing, according to a release from the chief minister’s office.
Rao said the old city would be made flood resistant, free from drainage water flowing on the roads, without any drinking water problem, free from power and traffic problems.
A comprehensive plan would be put in place in this regard, Rao said, during a meeting attended by ministers, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and officials.
“The CM has instructed officials concerned to prepare the plan to find out a permanent solution in the old city,” the release said.
He said he would visit the old city before the beginning of the month of Ramzaan and would announce the action plan, the release said.
