Lucknow, Feb 15 (PTI) Leader of opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Ram Govind Chaudhary, had to be rushed to a hospital today after he took ill while speaking on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address.

While delivering his speech, Chaudhary suddenly looked uncomfortable and sat down.

He continued speaking from his seat despite apparent discomfort. UP Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna then suggested that he be taken to a doctor.

Khanna also requested Speaker Hriday Narain Dixit to adjourn the house for ten minutes. The Speaker acceded to the request.

Doctors posted inside the Assembly premises examined Chaudhary and referred him to the Civil Hospital here. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later visited him there.

Meanwhile, Khanna informed the house that Chaudhary was fine and there was no complication in his health condition.

The House decided that the debate on the motion of thanks be taken up on February 26 when the chief minister will also address the Assembly.

The budget for the next fiscal will be presented in the House tomorrow.PTI SAB ADS 15021743
