Chandigarh, Jul 10 (PTI) Maximum temperatures today

stayed few notches above normal level in most parts of Punjab

and Haryana.

UT Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana,

recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, three

degrees above normal, a MeT Department report said here.

In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar registered a maximum

temperature of 37.7 and 39.8 degrees Celsius respectively, up

to three degrees above normal.

Karnal recorded a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius, two

degrees above normal.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high

of 37.4 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala witnessed

maximum of 36.7 degrees Celsius and 37.7 degrees Celsius, up

to three degrees above normal.

The MeT department predicted rain or thundershowers at a

few places in Haryana and Punjab over the next 24 hours. PTI
