New Delhi, Apr 9 (PTI) Nickel prices went down by 0.78 per cent at Rs 854.20 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut down bets amid low demand at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for April delivery was trading down by Rs 6.70, or 0.78 per cent, at Rs 854.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 554 lots.

The metal for delivery in May was also trading down by Rs 5.10, or 0.59 per cent, at Rs 858.30 per kg in a turnover of 11 lots.

Analysts said the fall in nickel prices was mostly in line with a weakening trend in metals at the domestic markets due to sluggish demand from alloy-makers.
