New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) Select base metal prices moved up by up to Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on emergence of stockists buying following uptick in demand from consuming industries amid a firm trend overseas.

Traders said stockists buying due to pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market and firm trend overseas pushed up select base metal prices.

Globally, nickel for delivery in three month gained 1 per cent to USD 14,240 a tonne, the highest since May 2015 on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4×4) rose by Rs 2 and Rs 5 to Rs 408 and Rs 795-800 per kg, respectively.Lead ingot and lead imported also enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 125 and Rs 131 per kg, respectively.

Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg): Zinc ingot Rs 124-130, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 795-800, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 408, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 125, lead imported Rs 131, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
