Kolkata, Feb 14 (PTI) Bengladeshi rock icon James shared the stage with Indian rock singer Rupam Islam in a live concert on the occasion of Valentine’s day today, the organizers of the event has said.

Lyricist Anupam Roy, singer Sahana Bajpaie from London, singer Imon Chakraborty and upcoming Bangladeshi singer Oyshee were the other participants.

“As an artist, I think with the coming together of Bengali popular singers from two coutries separated by border, ‘Gaan Piriti’ will give the music lovers a rich and varied taste of contemporary Bangla music on Valentine’s day.” The concert was organized by Shree Venkatesh Films (SVF).

“We understand the mutual respect for art that Bengal and Bangladesh share and we are confident that people will go back with something to cherish for a long time, SVF co-founder Mahendra Soni said in a statement.

On the occasion of Valentine’s day, a music video of contemporary Bengali songs ‘Tomar Akash’ was also launched on YouTube by Shusmita Anis from Bangladesh, who is the niece of legendary Nazrul Geeti exponent Firoza Begum.

The video has been shot in pocturesque locations of Nepal featuring two young actors of Bangladesh and Nepal.

“It s a gift from Bangladesh on this Valentine s day.

The music video connects two countries — India and Nepal — and spreads love through my song,” she said.
