New Delhi, Nov 14 (PTI) Soybean prices edged higher by Rs 9 to Rs 2,828 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions in sync with a firm trend overseas.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for delivery this month gained Rs 9, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,828 per quintal, having an open interest of 10,250 lots.

In a similar way, the delivery for the most-traded December edged up by Rs 7, or 0.24 per cent higher, to Rs 2,872 per quintal, with a business turnover of 1,90,480 open lots.

Marketmen said building up of positions by participants, driven by a firm trend in global markets, influenced soybean prices in futures trade here.
