Mumbai, Apr 10 (PTI) British lender Standard Chartered today promoted Sachin Gupte as the head of its human resources for the country.

Gupte has been with the bank for the last 16 years and had stints in Mumbai, London, Chennai and Singapore, with the last role being as the head of HR for global banking and transaction banking, an official statement said.

He will report to its India chief executive Zarin Daruwala and Peter Hatt, the regional head of HR for ASEAN & South Asia, it said.

Avendus Cap appoints Puneet Renjhen as ED-investment banking * Financial services firm Avendus Capital today said it has appointed Puneet Renjhen as executive director for investment banking.

Renjhen joins the firm from Standard Chartered and has also had stints for Kotak, Citibank and Lazard in London, Singapore, Mumbai and Delhi in the past.

Lemon Tree Hotels forays into Vijayawada

* Carnation Hotels, the wholly-owned unit and management arm of Lemon Tree Hotels, has signed a management contract with Laila Hotels and Resorts, for an upper midscale hotel in Vijayawada, the commercial headquarters of Andhra Pradesh.

Set to be branded as Lemon Tree Premier, Vijayawada, the 120-room hotel will have modern business services and facilities. Presently under construction, the hotel is expected to be operational by March, 2021.
