Wheat eases on ample stocks

New Delhi, Dec 1 (PTI) Wheat prices drifted lower by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on adequate stocks position following increased supplies against reduced offtake by flour mills.
Traders said adequate stocks in the market following improved supplies against reduced offtake by flour mills mainly kept pressure on the wheat prices.
They said weak trend at futures market also weighed on prices.
Meanwhile, Indian flour mills have imported 17.2 lakh tonnes of wheat from Ukraine, Australia and France so far this crop year to meet domestic shortages.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills)fell by Rs 30 to Rs 2,070-2,075 per quintal.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also eased to Rs 1,140-1,150, Rs 1,200-1,210 and Rs 1,270-1,275 against last close of Rs 1,175-1,180, Rs 1,240-1,250 and Rs 1,300-1,310 per 50 kg respectively in line with wheat trend.
