Chhattisgarh take first innings lead against Services
Mumbai, Nov 30 (PTI) Chhattisgarh rode on half-centuries from Amandeep Khare and Manoj Singh to take a crucial 56 runs first innings lead over Services on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter, here today.
Resuming the day at eight for no loss at the MCA’s Bandra-Kurla complex ground, Chhattisgarh were bundled out for 281 in 90.4 overs in response to 225 posted by the Services in their first innings.
Chhattisgarh skipper Abhimanyu Chauhan was cleaned by up Services pacer Sachidanand Pandey for a duck without a run being added to the overnight score.
While one down Anupam Toppo (21) was caught by keeper Nakul Verma off medium-pacer Diwesh Pathania, Ashotosh Singh, who walked at number 5, also fell cheaply on 13.
Amandeep (51 off 112 balls) made a patient half-century hitting six boundaries but eventually was sent back to the pavilion by spinner Vikas Yadav, who trapped him leg before.
