New Delhi, Dec 6: Following the launch of Shine Learning on December 4, 2017, we interacted with Zairus Master, CEO of Shine.com. Let us look what he has to say about the new portal.

What necessitated the development of Shine Learning?

Shine Learning was conceptualized as we felt that there was a huge potential in the e-learning category. Our internal study showed that there area plethora of jobs in the market, but the recruiters are finding it difficult to get candidates with required skill sets. Our study also revealed that there are a lot of employees who were unable to move forward due to the lack of required skills. So, in order to bridge this gap between the recruiters and the job seekers, we came up with Shine Learning.

What is the vision and strategy behind launching Shine Learning?

Our vision is to up-skill the Indian talent pool to adapt to the changing job landscape. Our strategy is simple- fill the gaps of hiring industry by providing professionals, who’re equipped with in-demand courses and skillsets. We bring this alive by reaching out to credible course providers across the globe and becoming the largest marketplace for online professional courses & certifications.

Please tell us a little about how the platform will work?

Shine Learning uses data (both recruiters’ and candidates’) to map demand of various skill sets across industries and provide courses basis that. Shine Learning uses an algorithm that not only predicts emerging skill sets but also recommends courses to candidates after analyzing their resumes and application history. It’s almost like having a virtual course counsellor, empowering users to make an informed decision.

What kind of courses will be available? Please share few examples.

Being the first to predict emerging skill sets, we provide most of the in-demand, industry recognized professional courses & certifications to the users. We have over 500+ courses which include Big Data, IFRS, Sig Sigma, Prince 2, GST, SHRM among others.

Apart from this, Shine Learning also prepare candidates for job preparation by providing resume services & professional profiles. We believe that a candidate should be prepared from all front, be it hard skills or soft skills.

To provide courses & industry-recognized certifications to its users, Shine Learning has partnered with some of the country’s best course providers like Skillsoft India, Digital Vidya, Tax Sutra, Grey Campus, Knowledge Woods, ICICI Bank, Get Cert Go and many others.

Please tell us about your GTM plan.

We’re looking at a 360-launch using print, radio, outdoor, influencer & content marketing, digital marketing and PR. Since our core TG is working professionals, we also intend to do activations at select corporate parks.

How does your business model work?

Ours is an aggregator-based model. We bring the best recognized courses from vendors across the globe, completely unbiased. Empowering users to pick the right course and make an informed decision.

By when will the website go live?

The beta version of the website is already live- (https://www.shinelearning.com/ )but the final launch will be done on 4th December 2017.

Which is the portal’s targeted audience/user?

Our target audience includes all working professionals who are looking to grow in their career and keep up with the skills that will be in demand in the future – it can be a person from any domain like Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR, or even if someone just wants to improve their interview skills and English-speaking ability.

Does it also aim to penetrate the rural India scenario?

Currently, we are only targeting the metros and tier 1 cities. While there is a massive demand of soft skill courses from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, and hence we will be reaching out to them aggressively in the coming time.
