Bhopal, Aug 19: In what was reported to be the first stop of his ‘Mission 350+’ tour, BJP president Amit Shah visited Madhya Pradesh to interact with the party leaders and cadres. While addressing reporters here in the state capital, Shah said there is no such mission for the party, as it is expecting to go “way beyond that” in the next Lok Sabha polls.

The comments of Shah came nearly two days after he reportedly met top 31 leaders of the BJP, briefing them on the strategy to be adopted for the next 20 months, moving into the general elections of 2019.

At the brainstorming session on Thursday, reports said, the party chief enacted mission 350+ for BJP, with the modus operandi being targeting the 150 seats where BJP lost in 2014, along with the quelling of anti-incumbency in states where the saffron party is in power.

On being asked by press here to divulge more details about mission 350+, Shah replied, “No such mission has been started. There is no target of 350+. We are bound to go beyond that.”

To validate his remarks, Shah added, “People of India are backing this government. In the past three years, the support for Modi ji has grown manifold. We have succeeded in catering towards the developmental goals of all regions and sections of societies.”

Shah claimed one of the strongest factors which maintains the popularity of Narendra Modi government is its “clean approach towards governance”.

“This is the most transparent government ever. Opposition is struggling to find one single allegation of corruption against our government since the last three years,” he said.

On being asked about the steps being taken towards fulfilling the poll promises of 2014, Shah replied, “The fight against black money is ongoing. Centre is working strenuously towards it. As far as corruption goes, you can see how Modi ji ended corruption worth Rs 59,000 crore by using the DBT (Direct benefit Transfer).”
