Srinagar, Jan 11: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced to implement recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for its employees from April 1. The state government also announced one per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees from July 1. The key announcements regarding the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission were made in the budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

“I am committed to implementing 7th Pay Commission recommendations from April 1, 2018,” Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu told the Assembly while presenting his fourth budget. The 7th Pay Commission will have retrospective effect from January 2016, Drabu added.

The 7th Pay Commission had recommended a 14.27 percent hike in basic pay, raising minimum pay from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 month.
