New Delhi, Mar 28: The deadline for linking of Aadhaar with welfare schemes has been extended till June 30 by the Government of India. This came a day after CBDT’s announcement of deadline of linking Aadhaar with PAN to June 30. The previous deadline for linking the PAN and welfare schemes, and the unique 12-digit identification number was March 31.

A statement from CBDT said after “consideration of the matter”, it has decided to extend the deadline.

Earlier in March, the Supreme Court indefinitely extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with bank accounts and mobile phones. The court had not made any changes to the deadline for linking Aadhaar with welfare schemes like LPG gas subsidy and others.

The earlier deadlines were March 31 for linking Aadhaar with mobile number, bank accounts as well as welfare schemes.
