AAP candidate list for Delhi MCD Elections 2017: View full list of 109 candidates released by AAP

New Delhi, Feb 24: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced candidates for the upcoming MCD polls in Delhi. In the first list, the party has named 109 candidates. The Delhi municipal elections have not been announced as of now. It is expected the elections may happen in April this year. Apart from the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Aam Aadmi Party also has Yogendra Yadav’s Swaraj India competing in the important civic polls.

Like other elections, the Aam Aadmi Party will fight the elections on the plank of corruption in civic bodies. In a recent press release, the AAP made its intentions clear. The release quoted AAP leader Dilip Pandey who spoke on corruption in BJP-controlled North MCD.

He said:  “There was a flyover planned by North MCD to connect on Pusa Road and North Delhi, to be situated on Rani Jhanshi Marg. This amazing flyover has been under construction since 20 years, and, the 70 crore budget for this flyover has risen to 700 crore. BJP asks for votes on the name of development, is this development?” (Also read: Delhi MCD elections 2017: Swaraj India releases first list of 25 candidates)

“The corrupt corporators and officials of North MCD have made this never to be finished flyover a never-ending machine of making money. The BJP cannot even use land issues as an excuse because for the last 3 years there is their own BJP Government in the Centre which controls all the land here. In fact when this flyover began in 1988, that time too there was a BJP Government in the Centre. This is not a flyover friends, this is an ATM Machine for the BJP from where they have been milking money without needing a debit card or ATM pin,” he added. Here is the list:

“Seven candidates are below the age of 35,” PTI quoted Swaraj India’s general secretary Ajit Jha.

The party said the candidates had a varied educational background. They had candidates who were a dentist and a candidate who had studied till class 8.

The party spokesperson Anupam said the candidates were chosen on the basis of three Cs–corruption, crime and character.

It is expected both the AAP and the Swaraj India will fight the elections on the planks of development and corruption.
