New Delhi, Oct 8: The Allahabad High Court on Thursday may announce its judgement in the sensational murder case of Aarushi Talwar, in which the victim’s mother Nupur Talwar and father Rajesh Talwar were convicted by a special court in 2013. They had appealed against the order in the High Court.
The teen was found murdered in her bed in the room of her father’s Jalvayu Vihar flat in Noida. The Noida police held domestic help Hemraj responsible for the murder of the teen for two days until his body was found on the terrace of the flat. The case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)by the then chief minister, Mayawati.
The Aarushi murder case is one of the most convoluted murder mystery the country has ever seen. The contradictory conclusions of two separate CBI probes have made the matter worse. One probe says that Hemraj’s friend Krishna committed the murders. Another probe concluded that her parents had seen the teen with Hemraj in a compromising position and in a fit of rage, Rajesh Talwar clubbed the teen with a gold club, then slit her throat with a surgical tool.
The defence had argued that the Talwar couple was innocent as they had only circumstantial evidence against them and that the murder weapon was a kukri. The special court had sentenced them to life imprisonment.
