New Delhi, April 6: Former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi has reportedly chosen Aishwarya Rai for her daughter-in-law and elder son Tej Pratap Yadav’s wife. Reports claimed that Rabri had finalised the alliance in mid-March when she had a meeting with Aishwarya’s parents in Patna. It has also been said that Rabri had planned all the events in consultation with the bride’s MLA father Chandrika Prasad Rai and her mother.
Last year, on the occasion of Lalu’s 70th birthday, Rabri Devi had created controversy when she said that she would prefer only ‘sanskari bahus’ for her sons- Tejashwi and Tej Pratap. Speaking to reporters, Rabri Devi had asserted that for her two sons, she wanted daughters-in-law who “will respect them, abstain from trips to the mall, and run the house smoothly”.
“Cinema hall aur mall jane wali ladki nahi chahiye. Ghar chalaane wali, bade buzurg ka aadar karne wali, jaise ki hum hain, waisi ladki chahiye. (I don’t want cinema hall- and mall-going girls. We would prefer a girl who can run the house, respects elders, and manages outside work, just like me).”
Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav is all set to tie the knot with Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of Chandrika Rai, on May 12. As many as 10,000 people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, are expected to grace the ceremony.
