Ajmer Sharif Dargah: Priest brothers accused of gangraping devotee

A devotee from Kolkata was gangraped by two khadim (priest) brothers Azim and Saleem of Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

New Delhi, Aug 27: A devotee, who came from Kolkata to offer prayers at the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty, was gangraped by two khadim (priest) brothers Azim and Saleem of Ajmer Sharif Dargah. As per reports by TOI, the Ganj police on Friday registered a case against the priest brothers on charge of gangraping a devotee. To get more evidence on the case, Police took the victim for medical examination. Following the brutal incident, the Ganj police is on a search run for the accused. The victim, who hails from Kolkata claimed that she was staying in a guest house. She stated that the two khadims raped her and locked her inside the guest house for a week. According to police, the victim stayed in the guest house where the Khadim brothers, raped her and locked her in her room. On Thursday night she managed to escape from her room and went to the police station. “We are looking for the accused,” said police. The Police met family members of the accused to carry on further investigation. According to revelations by the family members, it was reported that Azim, one of the two khadim brothers, married the victim seven years ago and later they had a divorce. They told police that after their divorce, the victim came to Ajmer last week. However, the police did not receive any legal papers of marriage or divorce as stated by the family members of the accused.
