New Delhi, March 12: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday apologised on micro-blogging site Twitter for his earlier post in which he had congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team over their historic victory against South Africa. On March 11, the actor had mistakenly mentioned that the Indian team had defeated Australia.

“YEEEAAHHH !! CONGRATULATIONS  Indian Women’s Cricket Team Historic Series win against Australia in T20 and ODI games .. terrific character, batting and fielding .. that catch by Jemimah on the boundary, OUTSTANDING !! you make us PROUD,” Bachchan had posted.

An hour later, the actor rectified his error and posted, “Apologies .. that should read South Africa NOT Australia.”

Soon after Bachchan’s apology, Twitterati started poking fun at the Bollywood superstar. Check out some of the tweets here:
