Bengaluru, Feb 15: At least four people were killed and 15 feared trapped under the debris after an under-construction building collapsed at Sarjapur Road in Kasuvanahalli on Thursday. Six workers have been rescued so far. The under-construction building had five storeys.

“According to initial reports, four people have died after the building collapsed. Rescue operations are underway,” Bengaluru Mayor Sampath Raj told the News Minutes. Police and personnel from the State Disaster Relief Force are at the accident site to rescue those trapped.

According to the Bengaluru Mayor, a five-storey building was constructed but the permission for only three had been granted. The building was under construction for six years. The construction had been stopped for the last two year for unknown reasons.

In October 2017, a two-storey house collapsed in Bengaluru’s Ejipura. Seven persons including a pregnant woman had died in the incident.
